Actress and comics scribe Brea Grant (DEXTER, WE WILL BURY YOU) has turned her eye to directing, hitting the road to for her first feature, the apocaylptic sci-fi horror/comedy BEST FRIENDS FOREVER.

Starring Grant  and Vera Miao, the film is described as a" dark comedy and sci-fi horror film, combining equal parts buddy film, road trip and nuclear apocalypse story, but with girls."

The story concerns Harriet (Grant), "the perpetual but unsuccessful optimist, who's finally figured out how to take her passion for comics and turn it into a responsible life. But when she and Reba (Miao), her seemingly devil-may-care best friend, hit the road to deliver her to grad school in Austin, TX and her new life, an impending nuclear apocalypse endangers even the best friendships and best-laid plans."

For more, plenty of updates are poised to hit the film's official site in the coming weeks as BEST FRIENDS FOREVER lenses in Texas and L.A.
